DeWys Manufacturing Inc., a West-Michigan based metal solutions company – is pleased to announce the addition of Brad Anderson to the innovation team as the new Welding Engineer! In his new position Brad is responsible for managing and monitoring all welding equipment to make sure they are meeting set goals for production, advance quality standards and improve manufacturing processes.
Brad’s journey, prior to DeWys Manufacturing, started at the Gaylord MI MTEC for welding and led him to Ferris State University where he completed his Bachelors in Welding Engineering Technology. After college Brad gained experience in the automotive industry, took five months to travel the world with his wife and moved to a new state where he worked in a welding laboratory. In his new position at DeWys Manufacturing, Brad looks forward to expanding his skills. He is also looking forward to developing new ways to reduce cost, improve quality and exceed customer expectations by thinking differently about advanced manufacturing solutions. This also includes reviewing product design, monitoring equipment and training operators. Brad believes that, “while welding automation may be my primary focus, I am looking forward to tackling our long-term goal of upgrading our manual welding processes.” In addition to manual and automated welding, Brad is excited to work closely with another Ferris Bulldog at DeWys, Sara, who is a current weld engineer and trainer. Brad and Sara will work together make improvements to all weld processes in efforts to continuously advance our capabilities for our customers.
Outside of DeWys Manufacturing Brad enjoys spending time with his wife and hunting for new treasures at yard sales on Saturday mornings. “I enjoy yard sales because you never know what you might find or who you might meet! My wife and I have found ourselves taking tours of peoples gardens, experiencing a rock and roll themed basement or even navigating a vending machine warehouse.” When Brad is not looking for a rare item him and his wife enjoy listening to their record collection that consists of about 500 records. Brad says, “hopefully 500 does not turn into 5000!”
Brad’s motivation to improve quality and throughput, desire to contribute to something greater than himself and his team-player attitude, makes him a valuable asset to the DeWys team. We are thrilled to announce Brad as our newest addition to the DeWys Manufacturing family!
