    Weld Engineer


    Manages and Monitors all welding equipment and process to ensure they are meeting or exceeding set goals for production and quality standards. This will entail all welding processes mig.tig, Grinding, Spot weld, material handling, stud welding. Reduce manual labor cost & improve quality by improving the processes and or documentation..

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Will work in conjunction with the team leads to ensure the welding machines and operators are achieving established goals for throughput and quality. Will work in conjunction with jigs and fixture department to ensure the fixtures needed for the jobs are adequate to meet production needs, quality requirements and repeatability standards. Will work injunction with estimating to ensure we can achieve cost effective quotes to meet processes. Will work with the team leads to ensure we can train and keep our employee skill and knowledge to set goals.

    • Create and maintain consistent clear set up instructions. Create the standard template or method to communicate to the operators how the machines, fixturing and part processes are to be used.
    • Program management. Create programs needed for the process using a standard method and any logic needed for the set up. Set up levels of password protection per operator. Create process to pull any program down on any process.
    • Develop solutions and determine proper weld sequences for cycle time and part requirement
    • Calibration of equipment. Weekly or daily if needed calibration completed to maintain accuracy of the equipment to help maintain the accuracy of the programs
    • Condition of equipment. Monitor and maintain working condition of equipment to ensure that it is in proper use.
    • Training. Complete training needed for operators to ensure they have skills needed to complete their daily tasks. Audit and evaluate operators daily to validate they are following standard procedures put in place.
    • Tooling. Work with the engineering / jig / quoting to develop cost effective tooling that is repeatable and productive.
    • Review product design and implement labor / quality improvements. Support customer design to build in MFG ease.
    • Reduce labor cost by improving product, processes or converting product over to automated methods.


    • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with 5 or more years experience in manufacturing, preferably metal fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    •  Leadership training.
    • Will need minimal of 2-3 years of Robotic / automation experience
    • Prefer someone with CWI  or CWE certifications

    Safety Intern

    The role of OSH/Safety Intern is to offer guidance and compliance with occupational heath and safety guidelines. This individual will ensure the safety of the workplace and help to prevent injuries.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Design and implement behavioral safety program
    • Help lead safety committee meetings in conjunction with Human Resource department
    • Review and update existing safety policies and procedures
    • Work to update safety findings from MI OSHA walkthroughs, suppliers and team members
    • Investigation behind root cause of accidents/injuries
    • Revamping initial safety trainings for new hires
    • Conduct area audits on a regular basis
    • Liaison between employees and management on safety related issues
    • Tornado and fire mapping
    • Updating documentation of current safety procedures
    • Ergonomic and noise assessments
    • Intervention in unsafe practices or operations


    • Graduated or in the process of receiving an Occupational Health and Safety Bachelor’s degree
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    Laser Operator – Weekend Shift (2)

    • Responsibilities will include keeping the laser equipment running by loading/unloading material for team members in the cutting department
    • Must be able to pass laser training
    • Must be able to maintain a hilo license
    • Need to have great communication and critical thinking skills

    This team member will be working 2nd shift on the weekend crew (5pm – 5am Fri, Sat, and Sun)

    General Machine Operator – Weekend Shift (2)

    DeWys Manufacturing is looking for a team member with good critical thinking skills and the drive to grow with the company.

    • Looking for a 2nd shift and Weekend shift general machine operator
    • Will be trained to operate Haegers, Spot Welders, and other pieces of equipment.
    • Must be willing to work the required shift and overtime as necessary

    This team member will be working 2nd shift on the weekend crew (5pm – 5am Fri, Sat, and Sun)

    Assembly – 2nd shift

    • Looking for a candidate that is detail oriented with good communication skills for a 2nd shift assembly position
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Must be able to take direction and follow blue prints
    • Prior assembly experience is preferred

    Powder Coater – 2nd Shift

    • Looking for a 2nd shift powder coaters for the powder coating paint line
    • Candidates for this position must have 6 months of powder coating experience
    • Must also have good communication skills
    • Willing to work overtime as necessary

    Press Brake Operators – 2nd Shift

    • Learn how to operate a Bystronic Press Brake through the DeWys University training program
    • Must have math and blue print reading skills
    • Prior experience in operating a press brake is preferred
